# Create brand asset submission

> Extracts the design system of one brand asset, a finished marketing piece such as a billboard, a poster, or any social media post or ad: its colors and how much of each, gradients and grain, type, layout, logo, elements, and people.

Upload one PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. It can be the flat creative, a mockup, or a photo of the piece where it runs; a mockup or a photo is straightened and cropped to the creative before anything is measured.

The job runs asynchronously: poll [`GET /design/submissions/{id}`](/api-reference/endpoint/get-submission) until the status is `completed` or `failed`, then read the design system from [`GET /design/submissions/{id}/result`](/api-reference/endpoint/get-submission-result). A failed submission's `error` starts with `NOT_A_BRAND_ASSET` or `UNREADABLE_IMAGE` (send another image) or `EXTRACTION_FAILED` (retry the same request).

Costs 2 credits, refunded when the extraction fails. Every upload is a fresh extraction and is never served from cache. See [Brand asset extraction](/concepts/brand-asset-extraction).
